Education and Training

Land & Water Australia invests in education to increase awareness and understanding of natural resource management issues within the Australian community. We also invest in training to build research capacity in areas relevant to land and water management within the Australian science community.

Our investment in education and training is primarily through the following funds:

  • Postgraduate Scolarships- education and training of future professionals
  • Travelling Fellowships- building research capacity of Australian researchers through overseas experience
  • Visiting Fellowships- building research capacity of Australian researchers through exposure to expert scientists

Wherever possible, Land & Water Australia provides information, advice and support to education professionals for national education and training stratagies and for major education initiatives.

Through the joint Research & Development Corporation's program on 'Building Human Capacity', we are investing in projects which will support the education, training and capacity building of Australian natural resource management professionals, as well as funding research into what education and training initiatives make a difference to rural industries.

More information on the joint program 'Developing Human Capacity in Rural Industries' may be obtained from the Rural Industries R&D Corporation.
