Grain & Graze is a collaborative Research, Development and Extension program funded by Meat and Livestock Australia, Australian Wool Innovation Ltd, Grains Research and Development Corporation and Land & Water Australia. These Rural Development Corporations (RDC's) have combined their expertise and resources to form a program that is committed to an integrated approach to addressing profit, environmental and social issues impacting on mixed farming systems (grain & grazing).
Specifically, the program has established agricultural research and extension activities in nine mixed farming regions across Australia, with the goal to achieve a 10 percent increase in profitability, the attainment of catchment health targets and improvement in farmers' confidence, personal satisfaction and reward. The five year program finishes in June 2008.
The Program Management Committee of Grain & Graze is seeking assistance to develop and implement an evaluation plan for the final eighteen months of the program, building on the 5 year Grain & Graze monitoring and evaluation strategy. This project is expected to commence in March 2007 with a completion date of June 2008.
