Managing Climate Variability Program Technical Advisory Committee

Call Closed

The Managing Climate Variability Program is seeking expressions of interest from individuals to participate in its Technical Advisory Committee.

The Managing Climate Variability Program is a collaboration between government and industry research and development investors based on more than a decade of climate applications research. It aims to deliver tools for improving climate risk management, particularly more useful and accurate seasonal forecasts with longer lead times than are currently available.

The Technical Advisory Committee will provide technical advice to the Program Management Committee on seasonal forecasting science, influence of climate change on variability, adaptation to climate change, applications and decision support tools for agriculture and natural resource management and adoption.

Up to eight individuals will be selected for the Technical Advisory Committee, the function of which will be similar to that often provided through an eminent referee process. The Technical Advisory Committee workload will require up to eight days per year. Tasks will include providing advice on the development of the Science Pan for the next phase of the Program, advice on new research project proposals and peer review of final research project reports. A three-year term to mid-2010 is envisaged.
