New suite of Publications now available!
Land & Water Australia and Australian Wool Innovation Limited's Land, Water & Wool Programme recently released a suite of publications on river managment for woolgrowers.
The flagship products were two comprehensive rivers guides - one each for the high rainfall and wheat/sheep zones.
The Wool industry river managment guides bring together the latest science and recommended managment practices for riparian areas within the context of a commercial wool growing property. Each book has over 200 full-colour pages.
A summary of the key recommendations from the flagship guides, Managing rivers, streams and creeks: A woolgrowers guide, was also published and provides a friendly introduction to the river and riparian management issues on farm.
Another resource within the suite that was created specifically for woolgrowers is the brochure Are my waterways in good condition? This checklist provides colour coded pictures that woolgrowers can use to quickly assess the condition of streams and creeks running through their properties. The brochure also suggests management actions that woolgrowers might take to improve or maintain these vital parts of their farms.
To complement the other publications in the suite, a booklet River Insights- featuring the stories of ten woolgrowers and what has motivated them to manage their rivers, creeks and streams in ways that make both economic and environmental sense is also available.
