Improve the success rate of revegetation activities

New research on the genetic variability within remnant populations shows that seed selection for revegetation activities needs to be carefully considered.

The research concludes that remnant population size and distribution is of critical importance in managing the health of seedling vigour and thus the success of revegetation activities.  Consequently, local provenance seed may not always be the best option for sourcing seed.
