Knowledge for Regional NRM Program recognised for excellence in decision support

An international forum dedicated to enhancing public sector knowledge management has recognised the contribution made by Land & Water Australia’s Knowledge for Regional NRM Program.

The actKM Platinum Knowledge Management Award, only ever given once before, recognised the program’s "major contribution to regional community skills and knowledge management".

In making the Award, the long term benefit for people working in agriculture and NRM was highlighted, as the program provides a hub for information and resources that previously did not exist. The Program was designed to facilitate better linkages between regional NRM bodies and knowledge providers such as the Research & Development Corporations, State and Federal Government and the university sector, and to assist regional bodies to better manage information and knowledge for improved decision making.

The Program was managed by Land & Water Australia and funded by the Australian Government, running from 2005 to 2008, in which time it has made a major contribution to regional community skills and knowledge management.

ActKM is an international forum dedicated to improving public-sector knowledge management. The Platinum award recognises an outstanding cultural and technological knowledge management achievement in organisational capability, performance and sustainability.
