Among Australia Day 2009 achievement medallion awardees was scientist Mark Silburn, whose contributions in hydrology, catchment management and other fields were recognised.
This recognition was warmly received by Land & Water Australia which shares Mark’s interests in soil, vegetation, water and climate. It was particularly pleasing that his citation acknowledged the important partnership between research investors and scientists.
Land & Water Australia projects in which Mark was involved are Coordinating Deep Drainage research in the Northern Darling Basin and Land Management Strategies for Semi Arid Tropics.
