Decision Support Advice Service
A free and independent advice service for regional NRM bodies.

The service has been setup by the Knowledge for Regional NRM team at Land & Water Australia and is run by a team from RM Consulting Group (RMCG) and Symbolix.

The advice provided must relate to selecting decision-making approaches. This means that you can expect to receive written advice on potential methods of making a decision. These methods may range from generic decision approaches (such as multi-criteria analysis and Bayesian networks) through to specific and applied models and expert-based decision approaches.

What are the objectives?

This project is a trial to determine if such a service is useful to regional NRM bodies, and delivers improved quality of decision making. The key objectives are:

to provide regional NRM bodies with independent advice on the selection of decision making approaches, and

to examine and gather evidence of the value in providing regional bodies with access to anindependent advisory service for the selection of decision making approaches.

Some examples of types of questions include:

What are the different models available to estimate end of catchment salt loads under different management scenarios?

We want to benchmark the ecological value of our estuaries, what methods are available to do that?

We have a target to improve community awareness of minimum tillage benefits. How can we decide which actions will result in the best bang for buck?

How to access this service...

Contact Cate on 0427 679 048
2009-05-26T03:04:50Z 2009-05-26T03:29:24Z
