&lt;h2&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;Australia&amp;rsquo;s primary industries working together on climate change&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Recognising that changes to Australia&amp;rsquo;s already variable climate will present great opportunities and challenges for the nation&amp;rsquo;s primary industries, a collaborative partnership - the National Climate Change Research Strategy for Primary Industries (CCRSPI) - was established in 2007.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&#13;
&lt;p&gt;CCRSPI operates under a mandate from the Primary Industry Ministerial Council and Primary Industry Standing Committee.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The CCRSPI partners are:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;ul&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;primary industry State agencies&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;Rural Research and Development Corporations&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;CSIRO&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
&lt;/ul&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;CCRSPI is overseen by a Steering Committee whose membership is comprised of representatives drawn from the partnership.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;h2&gt;What is CCRSPI?&lt;/h2&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The CCRSPI partnership initially invested to develop and implement a strategy identifying:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;ul&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;collaborative research opportunities that assist primary industries to understand, and build capacity to meet, climate change mitigation and adaptation need&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
&lt;/ul&gt;&#13;
&lt;h2&gt;How does CCRSPI work?&lt;/h2&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;CCRSPI focuses on collaboration, coordination and communication not control of the research agenda.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;The CCRSPI framework operates by consensus and transparency:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;ul&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;with regular reporting to CCRSPI Steering Committee and is&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
    &lt;li&gt;flexible to different partner needs/processes (partners are free to pursue their own research interests as desired).&lt;/li&gt;&#13;
&lt;/ul&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;CCRSPI partners &lt;strong&gt;lead, participate&lt;/strong&gt; or &lt;strong&gt;link&lt;/strong&gt; research activity on agreed research themes, and work collaboratively on submissions or projects.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
