The objectives of these trials are to:
1. Report on the application of the proposed framework (using conceptual models) and themes with respect to their utility in reporting on wetland extent, distribution and condition at the regional level and/or state level.
2. A desktop study of proposed indicators that will:
• Review available data for the indicator at the trial regional level
• Review possible measures for the indicator
• Report on the application of the indicator to the trial wetlands
• Outline the protocol or guidelines used in applying the indicator
3. Report on the extent, distribution, and condition of wetlands aggregated to the trial regional level, using existing data
