Product Information
The framework and guidelines proposed in this report provide a basis for consistent environmental reporting. The framework generalises the Signposts for Australian Agriculture framework that has been developed for the primary production sector so that it can be applied to any sector of the food value chain – primary production, storage, transport, packaging and processing. This provides an important link between the management of our natural resources and the goods and services our society demands.
The framework builds on existing industry initiatives and provides the flexibility to extend their scope as required. It is designed so that results can be combined along the food value chain with each supplier providing the appropriate information to its customers.
