River Restoration Course - University

Postgraduate Certificate in River Restoration and Management

Charles Sturt University developed this one-year part-time distance education course in collaboration with Land and Water Australia.

The Postgraduate Certificate in River Restoration and Management aims to meet the needs of waterway managers in Australia and will provide students with a sound theoretical background and extensive practical experience. Students will learn about prioritisation, design, implementation and evaluation of river restoration projects.

The two subjects undertaken in

Semester 1

  • establish a background in river geomorphology, hydrology and ecology, providing a context for the restoration
  • water policy and management subjects undertaken in

Semester 2.

  • All subjects include a compulsory Residential School that are an integral component of this course.

Course enrolment information:

  • Enrolment through Wagga Wagga campus of Charles Sturt University
  • Normal course duration two semesters part-time
  • Study mode is via distance education
  • Compulsory Residential Schools (3-4 days per subject)
  • Students receive a hard copy mail package
  • All subjects have an on-line forum
  • Each student has e-box for official communication
  • On line or 1800 access to library resources
  • Submit assignments electronically, by fax or mail
  • Exam centres throughout Australia
