Training & Education

There is an increasing demand for training in river management and restoration at the catchment and regional level. People working on-the-ground, be they from government or non-government organisations, are seeking education and training about what drives changes in river condition and how river restoration and protection can be incorporated in their day to day catchment planning and management activities.

The National Rivers Consortium, in collaboration with other groups that have interests and responsibilities in the area, is taking a national leadership role in developing a graduate diploma course in integrated river management, and an adult education and training program in river management and restoration.
