Outcomes from estuarine, coastal and marine information program 2006-2008

A national program that supported 14 projects involving collaboration with over 130 people and more than 30 national, state and regional agencies

The program aimed to:

  1. further develop indicators under the National Natural Resource Monitoring & Evaluation Framework including guidelines on collecting and collating data
  2. develop information products to support policy and management needs
  3. facilitate the development of data and information management systems

National Land Tenure Classification

The National Land Tenure Classification is a data set showing the Tenure Type, both freehold and non-freehold, for land parcels in Australia. This data set has been produced by creating a spatial association between PSMA Australia’s CadLite® cadastral parcel and jurisdiction land tenure data sets. This project was initiated by the National Land and Water Resource Audit (NLWRA) with the intention of creating a Land Tenure data set with Australia wide coverage. There are several existing Tenure data sets but they are outdated or of a low resolution.
